At Madelana Holdings, we believe that true success is measured not only in financial returns but in the positive impact we create in the communities where we live and work. Through the McManus Family Foundation, the McManus family has directed meaningful support to education, health, community development, and social justice initiatives throughout 2025.
Healthcare Innovation and Access
Lane McManus, who holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Master of Science in pharmacogenomics, has been instrumental in guiding the Foundation's healthcare initiatives. Lane is passionate about leveraging genetic insights to improve how medications are prescribed and experienced, with a particular focus on the mental health and addictions space.
The Foundation has supported programs that promote the integration of pharmacogenomics into underserved populations, advancing more precise and compassionate care for vulnerable communities. Lane also tutors women in math and science to encourage early interest and representation in STEM fields — an effort we believe will have lasting impact on healthcare and scientific innovation.
Social Justice and Refugee Support
Tracy McManus has been a driving force behind the Foundation's social justice and refugee support initiatives. As a retired legal professional with in-depth experience in private practice and with the federal department of justice, Tracy brings a unique perspective and deep commitment to advocating for those in need.
Following her retirement, Tracy has dedicated her time to volunteering in the non-profit refugee space. Her passion for helping those in need and promoting social justice has guided the Foundation's support for organizations that provide legal assistance, settlement services, and community integration programs for newcomers to Canada.
Sustainable Development Initiatives
John McManus, a seasoned construction executive with over 30 years of experience, has championed sustainable development within both our business operations and community engagement. His leadership on solar power generation projects has not only reduced the environmental impact of Madelana Holdings' properties but has also created opportunities to share knowledge and resources with community organizations exploring their own sustainability projects.
Looking Forward
As we look toward 2026, the McManus Family Foundation remains committed to expanding its community impact. We are exploring new partnerships and initiatives in health, the environment, and arts and culture. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back and look forward to continuing this important work in the years ahead.
The Foundation's work reflects a core belief held by everyone at Madelana Holdings: that strong communities and strong investments go hand in hand. We are proud to be part of the communities where we operate and committed to making a positive difference.
